WHAT? The Adidas Iniki Boost in Core Red – which is now named the I-5923.
WHY? I love the look of retro runners but they are uncomfortable compared to what I normally wear. So when Adidas meshed a retro design with comfortable tech, I wanted to try them out. PLUS I am a sucker for RED shoes.
My pair may even become a collectible, since it has the original Iniki name screened on the side and all future shoes will have a I-5923 screening.
DESIGN BEHIND THE SHOE: The Iniki Boost was designed to look like a ’70s retro sneaker but with modern technology and comfort. The newly named I-5923 comes from the article numbering system in the Adidas archives.
The Suede overlays on the toe and heel create a vintage look to the modern sock-like structure.
The Boost technology helps energize your step, while the gum rubber outsole provides great traction.
