With all the shoes dropping this All Star Game weekend, arguably the biggest is the return of the Black Cement Jordan 3.
Not only is the shoe celebrating its 30th Anniversary, but it also has the “Nike Air” logo on the back for the first time since 2001.
The Jordan 3 was the first Jordan model designed by the famous Tinker Hatfield, and is also known as the shoe that kept Jordan signed with Nike. With the release happening on February 17th, it coincided with Jordan’s birthday which just added to the hype.
Not being a huge Jordan collector, this was a shoe that I had never picked up, but this time around I made sure to add a pair (or two) to my closet. Not only did I set my alarm for 3AM to buy online but I also won a raffle at a local Toronto shop so that I have a pair already in hand!
This shoe consistently ranks in a lot of people’s TOP 3 shoes of all time, and with the simple colour blocking, and ease of wear-ability, I can see why. Last year I picked up the True Blue’s which means my Jordan collection is definitely growing.
Neither replaces the Military 4 as my favourite Jordan of all time, but I am glad to finally have a pair of Black Cements to add to my collection.
